The populer place of Sumo along Sumida River
The Ryōgoku Kokugikan (両国国技館), also known as Ryōgoku Sumo Hall, is an indoor sporting arena located nearby the station.
It is mainly used for sumo wrestling tournaments (honbasho) and hosts the Hatsu (new year) honbasho in January, the Natsu (summer) honbasho in May, and the Aki (autumn) honbasho in September. It also houses a museum about sumo.
There are also many delicious Chankonabe (a type of nabemono or one-pot dish) around the area. To experience the traditional culture and enjoy the food in Japan, our house is definitely a good choice.
Only 7min walk from Ryogoku station.
Six professional sumo tournaments take place every year, three in Tokyo and the other three in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.
